This Privacy Policy explains how Sage ("Sage," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our SMS-based personal AI assistant at sage.connectingaura.net. By using Sage, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Phone number. Your mobile number is your account identifier. We collect it when you sign up.
• Consent records. To comply with messaging regulations, we store proof of your opt-in: the exact consent language you agreed to, the date and time, and the IP address used at signup.
• Messages. The content of texts you send to and receive from Sage, so we can provide the service and maintain conversation context.
• Things you ask Sage to remember. Reminders, recurring events, scheduled verses or quotes, your timezone, and any facts you explicitly ask Sage to remember.
• Billing data. If you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store your full card number; we store a customer/subscription reference and status.
• Connected inbox (optional). If you connect an email inbox, we store the access credentials securely (encrypted) and use them only to send email you explicitly confirm.

2. How we use information

We use your information only to operate and improve Sage, specifically to:

• Deliver the assistant: respond to your messages, send reminders, and send scheduled content you set up.
• Send transactional messages such as the welcome text, billing/checkout links, and STOP/HELP responses.
• Process your subscription and prevent fraud and abuse.
• Maintain security, debug issues, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your conversation content to send you third-party advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. AI processing

Sage's replies are generated by Google's Gemini. To produce a reply, the relevant parts of your conversation are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. When you ask something that needs current information, your query is sent to Perplexity for a live web lookup. We send only what is needed to answer your messages. Your use of Sage is also subject to each AI provider's handling of API data under its terms.

4. How we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us run Sage, and only as needed to provide the service:

• Messaging provider (to send and receive your texts).
• AI provider (Google, whose Gemini API generates replies).
• Live web lookup provider (Perplexity, for current-information queries).
• Payment processor (Stripe, to handle subscriptions).
• Infrastructure provider (our database and serverless hosting).

These providers are bound to use the data only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security. We never share your phone number or opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing.

5. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Consent and opt-out records are retained as required to demonstrate compliance with messaging regulations. You may request deletion of your data as described below; some records may be retained where required by law.

6. Your choices & rights

• Opt out of texts: reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, END, QUIT, or OPTOUT at any time to stop all messages. Reply HELP for help.
• Access or delete your data: email sthor@connectingaura.net to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
• Disconnect your inbox: you can revoke email access at any time.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive credentials and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Sage is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
